Water Based Concrete Driveway and Patio Sealer

New surfaces

Concrete driveways & patios, brick, masonry, stucco, paving stones, concrete blocks, etc.

Directions
  1. Sweep the entire area clean and free of dirt, sand, mud, etc. that might interfere with penetration.
  2. Allow 1 or more days after washing before application can begin. Surface must be dry of excess moisture.
  3. Apply at temperatures between 15°C (59°F) and 35°C (95°F).
  4. Stir well. Do Not Thin.
  5. Apply by brush, thick nap roller for rough surfaces, short nap roller for smooth surfaces or high quality sprayer with an adjustable spray tip.
  6. On horizontal surfaces, saturate well. After 15 minutes remove puddles by redistributing to dry areas.
  7. On vertical surfaces, apply from bottom up. Saturate well. Eye goggles are recommended when working on vertical surfaces.
  8. For greatest protection, 2 coats are recommended. Allow to dry 4 hours before application of a second coat. Allow 24 hours before permitting traffic or parking a vehicle on the driveway.
Coverage

Apply at the rate of 1 US Gallon (3.78 L) per 125 to 250 square feet, for rough surfaces. Up to 400 square feet for smooth surfaces.

Satin finish will depend on the surface porosity and coverage attained.


Aged untreated surfaces or resealing

Concrete driveways & patios, brick, masonry, stucco, paving stones, concrete blocks, etc.

Directions
  1. Sweep entire area clean and free from dirt, sand, mud, etc. that might interfere with penetration.
  2. Stains such as oil, grease, algae, etc. should be cleaned using THE DUKE, a powerful all purpose cleaner and degreaser.  Follow recommended dilution ratio for spot cleaning or pressure washing.
  3. Allow 1 or more days after washing before application can begin. Surface must be dry of excess moisture.
  4. Apply at temperatures between 15°C (59°F) and 35°C (95°F).
  5. Stir well. Do Not Thin.
  6. Apply by brush, thick nap roller for rough surfaces, short nap roller for smooth surfaces or high quality sprayer with an adjustable spray tip
  7. On horizontal surfaces, saturate well. After 15 minutes remove puddles by redistributing to dry areas.

Drying time

Will vary depending on the surface and temperature. Dries to touch in 1 hour, longer in cooler temperatures & high humidity. Let dry at least 4 hours before second application. Allow 24 hours before permitting traffic or parking a vehicle on the driveway.

Clean-up

Clean brushes, rollers and equipment with warm soapy water.

IMPORTANT

Product will appear milky when applied but dries to a clear satin finish.

caution

Treated surfaces may exhibit a slight darkening effect. This product may reduce traction on some surfaces. For added safety use Ducan GripZone anti-slip additive. Keep unused containers tightly closed.

First Aid Treatment

Contains Dipropylene Glycol Butyl Ether. If swallowed do not induce vomiting. Call a Poison Control Centre or physician immediately.

Eye Contact

Flush with lukewarm water for 15 minutes. Call physician if irritation persists.

Skin Contact

Wash immediately with a nonabrasive soap and water for 15 minutes or until chemical is removed. Call physician if irritation persists.


The consumer shall satisfy themselves of the suitability of this product for the intended purpose. Weather, applicators skill and surface condition are beyond the manufacturers control. We therefore limit our liability to replacement of faulty material only, within one year and with proof of purchase.

Cautions:

Make sure area is adequately ventilated. Do not use as a curing compound or apply to uncured concrete. Concrete must cure for 28 days before sealing. Clean and remove all stains prior to sealing or they will be trapped in below the sealer. Do not apply to frost filled or frozen surfaces. Do not apply when the air and surface temperature are expected to fall below 15°C/59°F within twenty-four (24) hours of completed application or in direct sunlight at ambient temperatures in excess of 35°C/95°F. Do not apply a heavier coat than literature recommends. Do not use on surfaces that receive paints, other sealers, epoxy, joint sealants or urethane based coatings without complete removal first.
