Capable of withstanding extreme weather conditions, hot or cold, the Roll-Dek deck coating system remains permanently flexible over many years. It also works well for marine applications like boat decks, boat houses, and docks. It will adhere to above ground concrete, metal, fiberglass and wood.

Waterproof Deck Coating

When you apply the Roll-Dek/Top-Cote system you are coating the entire surface of the deck with a thick rubber membrane. Because Roll-Dek and Top-Cote are made from high grade synthetic rubber the system prevents moisture from entering into the wood substrate beneath thus protecting and preventing moisture from getting into the wood and rotting it.

Long-Lasting

Durability is one of the Roll-Dek/Top-Cote systems greatest features. Roll-Dek and Top-Cote have proven themselves over a 35 year period. Millions of square feet of Ducan's deck coating have been applied all over North America, from the extreme cold weather conditions of the Arctic to arid weather of the South and the rainy coastal weather in Vancouver and Seattle.

Low Maintenance

Ducan recommends the application of a single coat of Top-Cote every 3 to 4 years as regular maintenance. This will ensure the proper upper surface buildup as it may wear with heavy traffic and high UV, unlike painted or stained wooden decks which require striping, sanding and painting every year. The Roll-Dek/Top-Cote system also eliminates the hazards of wood splinters that can injure your feet, because the wood is not exposed.

Permanently Flexible

Neoprene* and Hypalon* rubbers are extremely flexible and are the main ingredients in the Roll-Dek/Top-Cote system. They will expand, contract and stretch with the surface they have been applied on top of.

Toughness

Decks, walkways and balconies can get more than their fair share of abuse from heavy traffic, snow shovels, kids and pets. The sturdiness of the rubbers in the Roll-Dek/Top-Cote system and its strong adhesion to the surface make it extremely resistant to damage that may cause water leakage below the deck.

Non-Skid Safety

Roll-Dek Base Coat deck coating is manufactured with recycled rubber chips that, when applied according to the specifications, texture the surface with a consistent pebbling effect. This texturing offers excellent non-skid properties, providing sure footing even when wet.

Easy To Keep Clean

The Roll-Dek/Top-Cote system has properties that resist mildew and fungus, mild acid and alkaline spills, and successfully repel most stain causing products; including sulfides from acid rain. Ducan recommends cleaning your deck with “The Duke, concentrated all purpose cleaner & degreaser”. Dilute in a pail of warm water and agitate on the deck with a stiff bristle brush. Allow the solution to sit on the surface for 10 minutes, agitate again. then rinse well with water. Although it will not harm plants we recommend you spray them down before rinsing off the deck.
